Here's just a bunch of kinda-nice looking sunrises that I took throughout the trip. I tried a few different filters, but nothing really turned out as spectactular as the view really was. Pictures didn't do the actual sunrises justice.

One day we were kinda bored so we went over the Maui Aquarium. Some cool fish there. One of the cool fishes was this Pinochio fish with a really long nose. Also, there's a cool picture of Heather confronting her fears and staring at the masses of jellyfish.

This was a nice scenic place on the way back from the airport. Just a short walk from the car and we could see all the way to the beach. It was quite a nice view.

One of my favorite things that I did in Maui was to bike down a volcano. In this case, it was Mount Ha'leakala. The downside was that my brother and I had to wake up at 2am to get a head start up the mountain. It probably took like almost 2 hours to get to the top so we were up there around 4:45am (the bus was a little late to pick us up). Now let me try to explain how cold it was up top. The OFFICIAL temperature was 43 degrees, but there was like 15-20mph winds. So factoring in the windchill, it was probably closer to 30 degrees. (I've looked up the previous few days temperatures and it has always been 30-35 windchill).

Anyways, it took SO long for the sun to finally rise (or maybe it just felt that way with all the cold). Ironically, no later than 5 minutes after the sun rose, the super fog rolled in. It was so thick that we couldn't see more than 10 feet in front of us. Luckilly we started down the mountain later when the fog was starting to semi-clear. It was a long cold ride down the mountain but it was a great ride with a lot of great views.

This place was just a small little nature garden that had a bunch of different animals and all of the native trees and plants of Hawaii. Of course, out of everything there, the most interesting were the ducks and the fish. These ducks were pretty crazy. Not like afraid Southern California ducks. These ducks would chase us around until we gave them food. I took this oppourtunity to attempt my own picture of some nice 'duck ass'

This was probably one of the more disappointing, yet at the same time my favorite part about the trip to Maui. On the one hand, I was expecting more of an 'authentic' luao. Instead it seemed very 'commercialized' and impersonal. On the other hand, there was free unlimited alcohol. Free booze is always fun and makes every night a blast :)

Not much happened in Lahaina. We ate there quite a few times and Heather bought some hand carved doll for her brother. In a few pictures, you see a very large tree. That's called the Lahaina Banyon tree. It supposedly covers a full city block. Its branches dip down and replant into the soil so although it looks like many trees, it's actually just one. While we were waiting for the sun to set along the beach, Ed went down and played horseshoes with one of the natives (and I think he won).

The Road to Hana is a trip around the island of Maui. It's a long, long, LOOOOOOOOOONG winding road around hairpin turns and 1 lane bridges. It took somewhere like 6 hours to make it from Ka'anapali to Hana and back. Along the way, there were many great views, several very nice waterfalls and some nice beaches. You'll see in one of the pictures, Heather is wading through some 4-5' overgrown plants. That was my Dad's idea and we turned back soon after.

Well, it's been a long time since I last posted something here. Basically, since I last posted, I took a trip to Maui for a week and now I've been back for like a week or so. I was planning on posting many wonderful and glorious pictures about my trip, but there was over 1gb worth of pictures taken and it's quite an effort to sort and resize the ones I want to show. But fear not, I'm still here and last night I finished sorting and delting some pictures. PROBABLY (big probably) I'll get around to uploading pictures tonight when I get home. In the meantime, I found two links that should bring a smile to your eyes.

First link has to do with one of the best movies of all time. The director has now announced a sequel is in the works and should be out sometime next year. Here's a link to the story (LINK). Yes, let's all rejoice at more crazy Spaceballs comedy.

Second link has to do with The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Apparently, JS went on the O'Reilly Factor and Bill O'Reilly made a comment to the effect of ... "You know what's really frightening?" O'Reilly said. "You actually have an influence on this presidential election. That is scary, but it's true. You've got stoned slackers watching your dopey show every night and they can vote." Apparently JS and the folks at Comedy Central took that seriously and found some stats which prove otherwise. Way to go JS. O'Reilly can suck it. Viewers of Jon Stewart's show are more likely to have completed four years of college than people who watch "The O'Reilly Factor," according to Nielsen Media Research.

Here's a few pictures after the plumbing and electrical was finished. Supposedly, this friday will mark the start of gunite. With the current record of this contractor, I wouldn't count on it too much...
