Pool: Steel
Pool: Steel

Today the steel was installed into the pool. Supposedly, the two guys that did all of this did it in half a day. If that's the case, I'm impressed. It's starting to take the shape of a real pool, not just a hole in the backyard. Joy. Next comes an inspection and then electrical/plumbing gets installed. We're hoping next week they will pour the concrete.

Just felt like taking some pictures of my dog Bud. I tried to get him in the act of barking, but this is all I got.

Pool almost dug
Pool almost dug

After day 4, our new pool is almost dug. They've got the shallow end dug out completely as well as the spa shaped. The steel guy was already here today asking when he could start. Looks like if they finish digging tommorrow, we'll get the steel started ahead of schedule. In case it looks a little shallow, the depth of the shallow end will be 3.5 feet when all is done. The hole is currently 4.5 feet deep.

Pool Day 3
Pool Day 3

Today they dug more of the pool. They will probably finish digging the pool tommorrow, unless they hit more huge rocks. Notice how rocky our soil is. Also, I found an interesting picture of a giant root. You can see a pipe that contains 2 smaller PVC pipes, but it also contains a nice big root that found its way all the way to the grass. Cool

New pool, Days 1 and 2
New pool, Days 1 and 2

For those of you who don't know, we're getting a pool put in. The just started the demolishion of our backyard on Friday, and I was planning on keeping some sort of photo log detailing the things they're doing. So here's days 1 and 2. You can see a few before images and then they start removing concrete. Day 2 they get some more concrete out and remove the spa. By the end of the day, most of the pool has been partitioned off. On Sunday (day 3), they'll finish partitioning it off and start digging the hole.
